Speaker: Rob Pope, Senior Consultant, Ecolighten Energy Solutions

Heat pumps are making headway in the market even as manufacturers continue to innovate for cold climates like Canada’s. Find out what’s coming down the line, so you can give the best recommendations as an HVAC technician, retrofit contractor, or builder.
The magic of heat pumps depends on refrigerants to move heat from outdoors to inside—even in some of the coldest weather we face as Canadians. But refrigerants can be risky in the unfortunate situation of a leak. That’s why a new class of refrigerants is hitting the market, designed to be less harmful to the environment in the event of a leak.
And more technological innovation is coming to cold-climate heat pumps too. Refrigerants and compressors even better optimized for cold weather can help heat pumps continue to perform well to lower temperatures. Join Community Energy Association and Ecolighten Energy Solutions to learn all about the new technologies and other changes coming to the heat pump market.
